In Texas State Waters, red snapper fishing is excellent year-round, as the season is open 365 days a year. This unique regulation allows anglers to target red snapper at any time, with a daily bag limit of 4 fish per person and a minimum size limit of 15 inches. On average, most snapper caught in Texas State Water offshore of Galveston are smaller in size than snapper caught in federal waters. The are many federally permitted charters in Galveston. I’ll be happy to recommend others that run federally permitted charter boats if you are wanting to run longer offshore and fish for many other species.
